Demon’s Watch – Tales of Fayt Book 1 by Conrad Mason: “The book was brilliant – the world is ingenious because it is very different to our Earth.”

The Demon’s Watch – Tales of Fayt Book 1 is the first of a series of books about The Demon’s Watch – Guardians of Port Fayt – a town in a magical world in the Ebony Ocean. I think it is parallel world that is made magical with goblins, trolls and fairies. There is a boy who is about 10 years old who is half human, half goblin who gets caught up in a problem involving Port Fayt and he is the only person who can help a group of people called Demon’s Watch solve the problem.

The book was brilliant – the world is ingenious because it is very different to our Earth. I loved the imaginative characters, especially Tabitha, a girl aged 12 or so, who is funny and brave.

This is a great book for boys and girls 8 years and older who like magical stories that are not fairy tales. I really recommend this book.
